Internet Explorer 9 Launching on September 15th
It’s finally happening. IE team has just announced the launch of Internet Explorer 9 Beta that will take place in San Francisco on September 15th.
This appears to be one of the most anticipated product launches this year.
Furthermore, this could mark the new era of IE breed with faster and more frequent updates. Who knows, maybe by the time Windows 8 is released, we will already have Internet Explorer 10.

Nice find man. I think the beta version for the same was out few months back. But the question is “In the presence of browsers like Google Chrome, can IE9 present an outstanding performance?”
IE9 graphics hardware acceleration works with “everything on every Web page—text, images, backgrounds, borders, SVG content, HTML5 video and audio—using the Windows DirectX graphics APIs. With Platform Preview 3 in July, IE9 introduced a hardware-accelerated HTML5 canvas.” The competing API for web graphics, WebGL, only accelerates that last, and Google’s ANGLE (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine) project is only concerned with translating some WebGL code to display using Windows DirectX, which enjoys far more support on today’s PC hardware.
The bigger question is, will it solve the compatiability problems that IE had. For eg, http://www.wordzo.com wont work on IE.
The graphics-hardware support speed up web graphics and game-type pages, but and ideal for making video — in particular HD video — play smoothly. To someone who likes to view web TV content on a big-screen TV, this is pretty important. So we can avoid the earlier Platform Preview’s bare bones interface.
Microsoft claims it’s because their nascent browser is using graphics hardware to accelerate page composition and the final desktop window composition as well as just content rendering.
The hardware-accelerated implementations of other browsers generally accelerate one phase or the other, but not yet both.
http://www.wordzo.com will surely work on IE8 and IE9.
Aby and Kenney, I want you guys to check this out. http://ie6funeral.com/
I think internet explorer, the name itself is like a bad omen to web developers, be it any version. hehe
Most of the compatibility issues that were present in IE6 were not resolved in the newer editions.
Now a days, Internet Explorer is incomparable with its competitors.
Era of IE is almost completely over. Still it has got a descent amount of users because it comes pre-installed with the most widely used OS Windows.
It is a well known fact that it has tons of compatibility issues.Every now and then we hear about security vulnerabilities in IE. It is quite easy to exploit its BHO (Browser Helping Objects)
Mozilla, Chrome and Opera has already beaten IE in terms of Speed, Security , Features and Compatibility
I think launching of IE 9 wont make much difference….
expecting the best……….
